Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): Nagaland Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP) in Peren observed “World Hepatitis Day” on July 28 at District Hospital, Peren, on the theme ‘Bringing care closer to you – Hepatitis can’t wait.’
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Renbonthung Lotha, senior medical officer at District Hospital, Peren, shared about the preventive measures of hepatitis and importance of early detection and treatment. He has emphasised on free screening test and treatment services available at the District Hospital under NVHCP, stated an update from the CMO’s office.
He also highlighted that the day was observed to spread awareness about the various forms of hepatitis and how the disease is transmitted, aims to improve the management, detection, and prevention of viral hepatitis as well as related diseases.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Kekhrielhouto Sophie, nodal officer of Treatment Centre at DH, Peren, for Hepatitis, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. J John Kent, SMO at DH Peren.
