Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): The Peren forest division Wildlife Week celebration was organised at Jalukie Forest Resource Centre, where Eco-Clubs under Peren district presented their annual eco-club activity in the form of painting during the programme. 67 schools participated in the competition.
During the second part of the programme, which was a formal one, Dr. Sentitula. IFS, DFO Peren presented a meaningful and thought provoking address. She reminded first to everyone present that the wildlife was decreasing in the forest but increasing in the towns. To drive home her point, she quoted Mahatma Gandhi, “Humans give your hands towards conservation, not to destroy them.”
She also said that there is a big disconnection between learning and practise and the root cause for all is the “greed”. Therefore, she challenged the students of their presumption that future belongs to younger generation and encouraged ‘to Learn, love and live with wildlife’.

The Range Officer Jalukie Punseni Khing briefed about the highlights of the movie explaining the basis of prey-predators relationship, the life cycle and nature of the big cat, “The Tiger “and its need to conservation.
