Dimapur, May 3 (EMN): As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Peren, undertook special cleanliness drive, plantation drive, and awareness in schools through Peren district from March 25 to April 20.
Cleanliness and plantation drives were carried out in District Hospital, Community Health Centre (CHC), Jalukie, and Primary Health Centres (PHC) in Tening, Mbaulwa, Azailong, Ntu, Ahthibung, Poilwa, Heningkunglwa, and Dungki as well as in all the sub-centres.
The health units prudently carried out the campaign to ensure and maintain cleanliness in their respective jurisdictions. The medical officers along with the other health workers and staff of the health units sincerely exercised and monitored the activities.
Cleanliness drives were also carried out by the ASHAs and AWWs along with block ASHA coordinator of Jalukie, Peren, Ahthibung and Tening on April 16, 17 and 18.
In Jalukie block, special drives were conducted in Samziuram market and Mhainamtsi. The team also visited schools and conducted health talks on personal hygiene, importance of keeping one’s environment clean besides demonstration on hand washing. The schools also undertook cleanliness and plantation drives in the school campus by the students and teachers.
