DIMAPUR — The 13th edition of the Peren District Legislators’ Trophy began on Thursday at the Peren town local ground, with Keyirangding Hegui, ADC Peren, as the special guest.
According to a DIPR report, Hegui acknowledged the Peren District Football Referee Association’s (PDFRA) sacrifices in his speech and extended greetings to the PDFRA on its 25th anniversary.
Hegui encouraged the gathering to cultivate social consciousness and emphasised social contributions. He also urged youth to abstain from drugs and alcohol, highlighting their negative impact on society.
On the occasion, he unveiled the PDFRA 25th anniversary monolith and released the tournament souvenir.
Imsolung of Puiteing FC, the 2018 best player, lit the tournament torch, and the special guest concluded the proceedings by officially declaring the tournament open.
