Peren District Legislators Football Trophy concludes

The 8th Edition of the Peren District Legislators Football Trophy (PDLFT) 2014 concluded at Peren Town local ground, which saw 20 strong teams from the district participating in the 9 day event. The PDLFT is the premiere tournament of Peren district and has been active since its formation way back in 2007.The final game was played between Jalukie-B Youth Organisation and Old Tesen and the former prevailed over the latter by a win of 2-1. Jalukie-B Youth Organisation, the winning team walked away with cash prize of Rs.75, 000 while the runner up team received Rs.35, 000. The prize was accompanied with trophies.
New Site Head Quarters, New Peren was given the title of best discipline team, while Samteilungbe of Peren Village Youth Organisation and Namteulung of Youngster Boys Old Tesen were declared best goalkeeper and best player of the tournament respectively.
The finale of the Legislators trophy had A.K. Zeliang, President Peren District football Association as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Heikwetgong Putlang and Haiku Nza, Pastor PTBC pronounced the invocatory prayer. Ramkietei and friends presented a special number while Rangleu Hegui gave the vote of thanks. The closing function came to an end with dehoisting of Tournament flag by Ngausi, Inspector Referees Committee.
The organising committee in appreciation of the enthusiastic cheering crowd of Peren declared Peren Town the “best crowd” of the football fans. The event was organised by Peren District Legislators Football Trophy Committee and Peren District Referees Association.
