Peren District Football Association announces inter-block tournament, selection of district football team

Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The Peren District Football Association (PDFA) has informed that it is organising an inter block tournament and selection for Peren district football team on July 29 and 30 at Jalukie B Village Ground, for Nagaland Olympics 2022.

An update from the association informed that the tournament has been organised to promote fair selection of players for the district team by providing opportunity to all players from across the district.

All the six circles (Blocks) under PDFA — Peren, Tening, Jalukie, Ngwalwa, Nsong and Ahthibung — are eligible to participate with one team each, and those interested or village youth leaders can contact the association’s circle secretaries to participate in block teams.

Criteria for participation and other information

  • Only players registered under PDFA shall be allowed to participate.
  • A player should be a permanent resident of a block he represents. If a player residing outside their native village is not selected by the block of his permanent resident, he can be selected for the block of his native village. Eg., a player from Ntu village residing in Samziuram can represent Tening block if he is not selected for Jalukie block.
  • A player living outside Peren district can represent the block of his native village. Eg., a player from Peren village residing in Dimapur can play for Peren block only.
  • All players of Peren District Team for Dr. T Ao Trophy 2021 & 2022 shall compulsorily be selected for the block teams as per their residence/native village, unless a player expresses his inability to participate.
  • Each block team shall register 18 players and two officials only.
  • All players shall indicate PDFA Player ID No. in the registration form.
  • There shall be two groups comprising three teams each to play league round. All league matches shall be played for 70 minutes with 35 minutes half each with an interval of 15 minutes in between.
  • There shall be three points for winner, one point each for a draw match and nil point for a loss.
  • equal points, goal difference (GD) shall be considered for table ranking. If the teams are still equal with GD, a team with more GF shall be ranked higher. If the points are still equal, a team with more GA shall be ranked lower. Further, if still equal, a team with higher red cards shall be ranked lower, after which yellow cards shall be considered for table ranking. If the teams are still ranked equally, the final ranking position shall be decided by lot.
  • Group top ranked teams shall play final match for 90 minutes (45 minutes half each) and in the event of no result, there shall be 30 minutes extra time (15 minutes half each). Further, if no result, kicks from the penalty mark shall be taken to determine the winner, in accordance with the procedure described in the laws of the game.
  • There shall be substitution of five players in a match.
  • All teams shall ensure that players in the field have complete set of a football player outfit and shall not wear anything which is dangerous to another player. All jersey numbers of the players shall be clearly visible.
  • For any disciplinary matters, PDFA shall be the sole authority to discuss and decide on the merits of the case and pronounce judgement which may or may not include penalty on the player/official.
  • PDFA Selection Panel reserves the right to select/reject any player for the district team purely on merit and conduct/discipline of a player. If required, the Selection Panel reserves the right to scout players from outside the tournament also. No complaints, whatsoever shall be entertained in this regard.
  • PDFA will not provide any funds or local arrangements for the teams. Therefore, all the block teams/players are requested to raise funds for their necessary expenditure during the tournament.
  • The registration fee of INR 100/- per player (INR 1800/- per team) shall be collected by PDFA.
  • There shall be cash prize for winner (INR 15,000) and runners-up (INR 10,000) of the tournament.
