The 4th Peren District Chess Challenger cum U-16 Championship organized by Peren District Chess Association was held on December 5 at Jalukie Town Council Hall.Mengise Haikam emerged Champion while H.Peida and Namdibe Iheilung bagged second and third respectively in the general category.
In Under-16 category Heilamgumbe of Government High School, Heningkunglwa emerged first while Italak Kauring of All St. School Peren and Luikierangbe of GMS Gaili stood second and third respectively.
Winners from both the categories will represent Peren district at the Nagaland state “B” Chess championship 2014.
