Peren defers district jubilee celebration programme
Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): The Peren district planning and development board (DPDB) has decided to postpone the district jubilee celebration programme tentatively to October or November next, while all the departments in the district are asked to organise programmes as part of the celebration.
The decision to this effect was taken during its meeting on February 8 held under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB, Sentiwapang Aier in his office’s conference hall.
As proposed by the additional deputy commissioner of Peren for extension of Peren district jubilee celebration programme, the house agreed to defer to the month of October/ November. The ADC also appealed to all the head of offices to come forward, extend full support and organise departmental programmes as part of the pre-celebration.
Also speaking in the meeting, DDMA Peren DPA, Kedigong, informed the house that mock exercises on earthquake would be conducted in Jalukie town on February 17 and 18 as preparedness measure to response to emergencies. In this regard, the DC has called for active participation of all the members.
During the meeting, president of persons with disabilities (PwDs) gave a short presentation on behalf of the organisation.
The house welcomed the new members including ADC and district fishery officer.
The PWD (R&B) was entrusted to make a powerpoint presentation on their departmental activities in the next meeting.
