Dimapur, Dec. 6: The LADP Verification Committee for Peren district was constituted on December 6 at its DPDB meeting held in the DC’s conference hall with Zarenthung Ezung, DC & Vice Chairman DPDB, as the chairman.
Thuvishie Phoji, ADC Tening, has been made as convener along with SDAO Tening and SDO (PWD) Tening as the members for 6 Tening A/C. For 7 Peren A/C, Tainiu, ADC, has been made convener along with EE (PWD) Peren and DFO Jalukie as the members.
The board deliberated at length on the issue of ban on logging (round timber) under Working Scheme and Tree Farming and decided to relax the ban period till April 30, 2017. The house also approved that no loaded log vehicle will be allowed to ply on all the roads of the new district headquarters. Further, it recommended for awareness campaign in respect of hunting and fishing with chemical at the village level.
Later, the departmental activities were presented by the District Industries, Soil & Water Conservation and the PHED. The department of PWD, Veterinary and the Fishery have been asked to present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
