People’s Democratic Alliance delegation meets Prakash Javadekar

Dimapur, Feb. 26 (EMN): The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) delegation called on Union Minister for Environment and Forest, Prakash Javadekar at his official residence in New Delhi on Friday.

The delegation comprising National spokesperson of the BJP, Mmhonlumo Kikon, who is also the advisor IT&C, Science and Technology and NRE; Minister for Housing and Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum; Advisor for Horticulture, Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan; and Advisor for Technical Education and  Election, Medo Yhokha, according to an update from Kuolie Mere, PRO (IPR) Nagaland House, New Delhi.

Conveying the state government’s appreciation for his timely intervention during the recent Dzükou fire, the legislators requested the minister to provide resources to procure fire fighting equipment and construction of permanent firelines to prevent future occurrences. He was invited to visit valley.

The delegation requested Javadekar to intervene in the post-facto CRZ clearance of the Nagaland Guest House at Navi Mumbai, to which he “assured to clear the issue at the earliest”.

In regard to Amur falcon roosting sites, the delegation sought assistance to create state-of-the-art ecotourism infrastructure. Appreciating the proposal, the minister raised the issue of delay in submission of wetland development plan (national plan for conservation of aquatic ecosystems), by the state, it was informed.

The delegation also requested the Centre to provide adequate compensation to persons affected by man-elephant conflict in the state. It

It was also informed that the delegation had thanked Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs and Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri for providing direct flight between Dimapur and Delhi and clearance for cargo facilities at Dimapur Airport, during the meeting on February 25.

The Union Minister was said to have given approval in principle for provision of “Demonstration Housing Project” and that the ministry will send a team to visit the proposed site for the project and oversee the ongoing infrastructure development in the state.
