Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): With an objective to make Nagaland a model state for a peaceful and happiest state in the country, Peer Mediation Forum consisting of 20 members, was floated at Alder College, Kohima on October 3. The forum announced its 2030 vision mission themed “peace for all”.

This was informed by Alino S Chishi, animator from Kohima district, through a press release made available to the media on Thursday.

Chishi stated that peer mediation is both a process and programme where students of same age-group facilitate resolving disputes between two people or small groups. She added that youths should play a pivotal role in bringing change to the society.

She said that peer mediation can help the members improve self-esteem, listening, critical thinking skills, climate for learning, as well as reduce violence. She added that Peer Mediation Forum will help solve issues related to social media, domestic violence, relationship, rumours and gossip, bullying etc.

The forum vouches to become a channel of peace by bridging differences to achieve its 2030 vision.
