Peducha Village falling under Western Angami region today observed the golden jubilee celebration of its establishment at Kiruphema Local Ground, Peducha. The 50th anniversary celebration was graced by minister for Social Welfare Kiyaneilie Peseyie as the chief guest. In his address, the minister lauded the village pioneers and elder for striving during the hard and difficulty times in establishing the village.
Congratulating the village and its members for attaining 50 years maturity, Peseyie advised them not to hold back, but urged them to be torch bearers in every walk of life.
“As you attain 50 years, continue to hold more responsibility. And let this jubilee be a time of introspection and retrospection as you continue to surge ahead,” he said.
Peseyie further asked the villagers to cooperate with the State government in order to bring more development. He also advised the younger generations to listen more to the elders with respect, and told them to uphold the traditions and further to carry on the rich legacy of the forefathers.
MLA and chairman NKVIB, N Thowang Konyak who accompanied the minister also addressed the gathering.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated the village gate and unveiled a monolith commemorating the 50th anniversary of the village establishment. He also released the jubilee souvenir.
The programme was chaired by Thepfülhoutuo Zenyü-u, convenor organizing committee, while the invocation was pronounced by Pecüvilie Kruneilie, pastor Peducha Baptist Church. The welcome address was delivered by Thepfüyiengu Vielie, chairman Peducha Village Council and the keynote address by Thepfülhouca Kinyü, village elder. The village youth presented a special number and the vote of thanks was tendered by Neimehel Neikha, vice chairman of Peducha Village Council.
The jubilee celebration was attended by several dignitaries, NGOs and village leaders from Angami and western Angami area and well wishers from near and far. The chief guest was also accompanied by his lady life.
