Peace is the greatest weapon for development – Yangseo
Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Describing peace as the greatest weapon to usher in development and progress, the deputy speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, T Yangseo Sangtam, called upon the public to embrace and propagate peace for further development in the society.
Sangtam stated this during the inauguration of an approach road between Pungrungru village and Yingshukur village on April 11. He stated that the connecting road between the two villages would serve as a lifeline to the entire area consisting of five villages namely old and new Risethsi, Tsuthu, Purrur and Yingshikur especially for business and socio-economic growth, an update from the press secretary to the deputy speaker stated.
He also urged the people to cooperate and support the UDA government under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, who has a vision for all round development in the entire state.
The programme was chaired by Kumcho, secretary of village council, while the dedicatory prayer was said by pastor of PBC and the welcome address was delivered by Muchimong, Head GB.
Short speeches were delivered by Kiritong, NDPP state secretary, and Setsipa, Head GB of the new Risethsi village. The vote of thanks and benediction were said by Kirito, VDB secretary, and Hanphuba, home evangelist, respectively.
In another programme, T Yangseo Sangtam, inaugurated the newly constructed black topping road from National Highway 202 to Kiphire Village local ground measuring 1.6 km funded by LADP Iconic scheme during 2021-22 on April 13.
