Peace forum visits worship places

Dimapur, Jan. 8 (EMN): The People’s Forum for Peace (PFP), Dimapur unit have informed about a visit to religious community leaders ‘for world peace’ on Sun.
The forum’s members visited a mosque, the Durga mandir, the Jain temple, the Gurudwara, and Holy Cross Church, it was informed.
Speaking at the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Sahib at Gurudwara, President PFP Taku Longkumer said such interfaith meeting is needed to bring all the communities of the city for better of Dimapur.
Appreciating the initiative, president of Marwari & Digamber Jain Samaj, Om Prakash Sethi wished that such noble ventures would bring the city’s various communities ‘closer for better harmony’ in Dimapur.
Imam Sahib of the Jama Masjid at Hazi Park; Panditji Bhupindar Sharma, Ajay Sethi, Darshan Sahib, and Fr. Chacko talked to the visiting groups about their respective religion and prayer houses.
Lauding the efforts of the PFP, the president of the Hindu Sewa Samiti Gopal Sharma wished that such efforts would continue in the future, while expressing gratitude to the hosts.
The director of Peace Channel Dr. C P Anto informed that the visit will continue, with visits to Baptist churches and the Buddhist temple on Jan. 14.
Interested leaders from various communities are requested to assemble at the Holy Cross Higher Secondary School.
