Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): The People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) organised a meeting to discuss promotion of community peace and harmony. The meeting was conducted on September 7 in the Panchayat Hall of Jakhama village, a press note informed on Sunday.
“PFP is a forum for analyzing conflict situation at people’s level and exploring new strategies for building peace at individual, group and community levels,” the statement said. The forum also provides the opportunity for individuals to develop themselves as capable leaders who are “responsible, transparent, honest and diligent” and can help in creating “sustainable peace”, it read.
During the meeting, the members also discussed the different concerns and perspectives for peace and conflict and concluded that peace meant “harmony with oneself and with others” while conflict referred to “disagreements, differences in opinions and perceptions,” the statement said.
