Dimapur, August 15 (EMN): Capacity building programme for the teacher animators was conducted in Peace Channel conference hall on August 12, with founder & director of Peace Channel, Principal of North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Dr. Fr. C.P.Anto, as resource person.
Fr. Anto spoke on four basic principles peer mediation and its advantages. He said peer mediation is a tool and a technique which can be used to solve conflicting issues. He also shared inspirational stories on visionary leaders, individuals, and cited number of anecdotes. Stressing on the importance of peer mediation and its need in the society especially in Nagaland context, he encouraged the teacher animators to be effective peace builders and give their best in rendering their services.
After discussing on the subject with the participants, Peace Channel in consultation with the teacher animators decided to implement peer mediation to solve all forms of conflicting issues in their respective institutions and society as well.
The outcome of the programme was that the teacher animators have agreed to carry forth the concept of peer mediation, train the peace club members and form peer mediators in the school. Some even decided to take the Peace Club members for peace building outreach programmes.
The workshop was attended by teacher animators from different educational institutions in Dimapur.
