Dimapur, Feb. 16 (EMN): Peace Channel organised a two-day training programme for women at Padumpukhuri and Sachu colonies on the theme “Peace Mission.”
An update from Peace Channel stated that participants have discussed on the importance of peace and well-being of the society while it also initiated various activities to foster healthy approach to communicate better with mutual understanding and build resilience among different communities and colonies.
It stated that over 18 selected women from Sachu colony and over 20 women from Padumpukhri attended in both the trainings respectively under the leadership of Caroline Leisan, coordinator of Dimapur district unit.
“The mission of the Peace Channel is to reach out to the people in every village, town, district, state, country or abroad to stop violence and promote peace,” Caroline stated after expressing the vision of “Make a world where there is love and peace and justice.”
It also stated that Mhabeni Ngullie, general secretary of Nagamese Baptist Church Association, spoke on the need to spread the message of peace and assured to extend support to Peace Channel in their endeavours. It added that Rita Gosh, women team leader, has also expressed her satisfaction on the initiative undertaken by the Peace Channel.
Report also stated that the programme has helped the women resolved their problems peacefully and effectively and were advised to promote peace in their localities. It further stated that both groups have expressed gratitude to Peace Channel and looked forward to working together in the future.
