Dimapur, March 20 (EMN): Having observed that many government officers were found absent without taking proper leave, Phek district gaonburahs’ (GBs) association (PDGBA) resolved to conduct surprise checking of attendance and report the matter to the state chief secretary for necessary disciplinary action.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its meeting held on March 9 in Phek town.

A press release issued by its president, Zadulhu Ringa, the association has decided to deduct an amount ranging from INR 900 to INR 1000 per day against any public servant who wilfully stays away from work in the near future.

“It has been observed that certain government officers posted at the district headquarters and various sub-divisions remain absent without taking leave thereby creating untold inconveniences to the public in the social, economic, health and educational sectors in the district. The public servants are expected to be in their posting place and implement social welfare schemes, PDS, flagship programmes and other policies and programmes being initiated by the central or state government,” the press release stated.

In the light of the above stated circumstances, the association has appealed to all government servants to be stationed at their respective place of posting in order to avoid such penalty.
