PDFL: Native Feathers upset Puiteing FC; Prime FC blank Lekie Mtei; Barak FA, NASA win

Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): Native Feathers beat the top league table team Puiteing FC 2-1 on Saturday at the ongoing first Peren District Football League (PDFL) organised by Peren District Football Association (PDFA) at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground.

Barak FA, Northern Zeme Sports Association (NZSA) and Nsong Area Sports Association (NASA) also won their respective matches.

Native Feathers downed the top league team however, Puiteing FC still stands as the top in the league points table.

Four minutes into the match, captain of Native Feathers, Khiuwangbo Kaurintah found the back of the net through a free kick. Puiteing FC failed to make any breakthrough for the equaliser in the first half.

After the breather, rejuvenated Puiteing fought back and netted the equaliser through the boots of Wibonjibo in the 55th minute.  Both the teams displayed their spirited effort to take upper hand. In a thrilling match, Mezibui of Native Feathers sealed the deal by scoring in the 85th minute making it 2-1. Puiteing FC failed to maintain its winning streak and had to concede a defeat.

Meanwhile, Barak FA hammered NZSA 4-1. Captain of Barak FA Kenumdi scored four goals and secured a hat-trick in the 22nd, 45+2, 64th, and 88th minutes. The lone goal from NZSA came from the boots of captain Ilungrai in the 39th minute.

In the second match, NASA beat Benreu FC 5-4. In a nine-goal thriller, Ningteu of NASA drew the first blood in the 7th minute of the game.

The equalising goal from Benreu FC came in the 32th minute of the game. Ngialung of NASA made a comeback to lead the goal in the scoreboard; however Ilamcung of Benreu FC equalised the score in the 52nd minute.

Ningteu again struck twice in the 74th and 80th minutes. Determined Benreu FC came back when Rangrangbe, Kethozhapu and Digumpeung scored a goal each in the 58th, 72th and 88th minutes respectively. However, Benreu FC failed to find the equaliser.

Further, Prime FC blanked Lekie Mtei FC 5-0 in the third match.

The first goal came from the boots of Ngaugiadi in the 26th minute and Haidingbe of Prime FC scored in the 26th and 36th minutes of the game.

Kambeu came back again with a goal in the 51th minute and the last goal came from Kailinbo in the 81th minute of the game, which was enough to seal the deal.
