Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): Puiteing FC will clash with Native Feathers for the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) cup title on Saturday.
Both the teams won their respective semifinal matches played at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground on Friday.
The semifinals matches were played between the top four teams of the 1st Peren District Football League (PDFL) league vying for the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) cup title.
It may be mentioned that the league matches have ended last week where Puiteing FC emerged as the PDFL champions.
After the first semifinal match on Friday, a prize distribution was held where Puiteing FC walked away with cash award of INR 1 lakh along with the trophy.
Playing the first semi-final match, Puiteing FC defeated Lekie Mtei FC 2-0 and booked their berth for the final.
The first half of the game was entirely dominated by Lekie Mtei FC. However they missed several chances created by the midfielders and failed to make any breakthrough.
In the second half, Paolenngam scored a brace in the 73rd and 85th minutes to lead Puiteing FC to a comfortable 2-0 win.
The first semifinal match was graced by ADC Peren, Keyirangding Hegui as the match patron.
In the second semifinal match, Native Feathers FC beat Barak FA 2-1 to earn their ticket to the final. Barak FA scored the first goal through the boots of Dihubein the 24th minute.
Native Feathers’ attempts to find the equaliser in the first half were in vain. After the breather, Native Feathers found the equaliser through Khiuwangbo Kaurintah who converted from a spot kick in the 59th minute. Kaurintah scored another goal in the 75th minute to seal the fate of Barak FA. The match patron for the second semifinal match was ADC Jalukie, TL Kiusumong Tikhir.
