Dimapur, Jan. 2 (EMN): The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) has extended New Year greetings to the people of Nagaland and expressed earnest hope that “2021 will be a year of hope and joy”.

The PDA said in a press statement that 2020 was a difficult and challenging year for the world but the people of the state helped the government handle the pandemic successfully.

“The PDA reaffirms our commitment towards serving the people of the State with dedication and steadfastness. We stand committed to our motto ‘Together with all! Development for all!’ the statement read.

It also welcomed the decision of the NSCN/GPRN led by Gen. (Retd.) Niki Sumi to join the ongoing peace process between the government of India and the Naga national political organisations, stating that it speaks volumes about the commitment of the Naga leaders towards bringing a final solution to the Naga issue and their desire for peace.

“The PDA continues to encourage all stakeholders to come together for our common cause and desire for peace, development and unity,” the statement read. It also appealed ‘to the government of India and the negotiating parties to expedite the ongoing talks so that the much-anticipated final settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue is realised in an honourable and inclusive manner in 2021’.
