Dimapur, June 22 (EMN): Seemingly dissatisfied with the status report, minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir, urged project directors (PD) and block development officers (BDO) to be more responsible in discharging their duties.
Jamir stated this during the performance review meeting with all project directors of DRDA and block development officers under Rural Development department held at the RD conference hall in Kohima under the chairmanship of its director, Liboni Humtsoe, on June 22, an update from the department stated. He urged the project directors to be more responsible in discharging their duties and also directed the block development officers to keep updating with their respective project directors.
Jamir also called upon the officers to make it a point to attend such meetings whenever called upon so as to keep updated on progress of programmes and for a thorough discussion on challenges and hurdles faced by them while implementing programmes. Jamir further asked all officers to be sincere and give extra effort to finish pending targets.
Also speaking on the occasion, the commissioner and secretary of RD, Neposo Theluo, highlighted various issues and difficulties faced by the department under several schemes and sought the support and cooperation of all officers in solving the pending issues.
Theluo also reminded the PD and BDO to be thorough with the guidelines provided by the ministry for all the programmes being implemented and to follow rules and regulations.
Report stated that the members have discussed and reviewed various programmes including Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), MGNREGA, grand-in-aid, VDB welfare fund, micro-finance and UC, fifteenth finance commission grant to RLB and Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
The review meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the additional director of RD, Azenuo Pienyü.
