Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): The Press Council of India (PCI) Sub-Committee met and interacted with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his Residential Office in Kohima on Tuesday.

An update from DIPR informed that the committee briefed the CM about various problems faced by journalists and media persons in the Country, particularly in conflict areas, during the meeting.

Rio told the team “that the welfare of the press fraternity in the State is relatively good as compared to other states” and apprised them of the steps the state government has taken for the welfare of the press fraternity.

The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam.
