Mokokchung, March 30 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir, in an order on Monday directed all the employers, be it in the industry or in the commercial establishment, to pay their employees without any deduction during the lockdown period.
“All the employers, be (it) in the industry or in the shop and commercial establishment shall make payment of their workers, at their workplaces, on the due date, without any deduction, for the period their establishments are under closure during the lockdown,” the order stated.
The DC also appreciated the organisations and NGOs that have taken up the task of distributing food to the daily wage earners, migrant workers, and people in distress.
However, the organisations and NGOs have been informed to carry out their activities in collaboration with the district administration so that proper food safety regulation and social distancing is maintained, the order stated.
The statement further warned that any person or group acting in violation of the order would be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the IPC.
