The 23rd Wrestling Tournament of the Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA) is scheduled to held at Public ground Phek Town on January 30 and 31. Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Minister for PWD (R&B), Parliamentary Affairs, government of Nagaland will grace the inaugural function as the chief guest while, Neposo Thuluo, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Phek would grace the valedictory function as the guest of honour.The champion of the 23rd edition will receive a cash prize of Rs.70, 000 along with citation to be sponsored by Zhopra Vero Kedallo, Federal Govt. of Nagaland (FGN). While the second, third and fourth position holders would pocket a sum of Rs.50, 000, Rs.35, 000 and Rs.20, 000 respectively along with citations. The second and third cash prizes will be sponsored by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Minister for PWD (R&B), Parliamentary Affairs, government of Nagaland, while the fourth position cash prize would be sponsored by Chinese Chakhesang, Dy. Commandant, 5th NAP, Phek.
The two days event would be managed by Hukhoneyi Soho, Zewepe, Vekuta and Nungozo as the Referee while Khopa along with 9 others would be the panel of Judges.
According to the PAWA President, Zachita, a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2014-2016 would be installed during the tourney. PAWA, has meanwhile, extended its special appreciation to Vechikhoyi Lohe, Vice Principal, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Phek and Mulehu Khesoh, Lecturer, Phek Government College (PCG) Phek for bearing the expenses of printing out of programmes and certificates.
