Patton urges unity for early settlement of Naga political issue

KOHIMA, AUGUST 8: State Home Minister, Y Patton, has called for unity of all section of Naga society as well as the entire national workers under one umbrella in order to bring about early settlement to the Naga political issue.
Addressing as the chief guest during the inaugural function of new NPF Wokha division office building on August 8 near NST Colony Wokha, Patton stressed that the long awaited dream of the Naga political deadlock could only be settled through unity.
He further remarked that with eight national worker groups existing in the State, the people are suffering due to taxation by the different groups. He called upon all the national workers to unite as they are striving for one goal that is ‘Sovereignty.’
Also noting the lack of preserving good leaders among the Lotha community, Patton urged upon the people to uphold and preserve capable leaders who could work for the betterment of the community in particular and the Nagas in general. Patton further urged upon the NPF party functionaries of Wokha district to take care and make best use of the building to work for the welfare of the party and the people in general.Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the monolith and formally inaugurated the office building, while a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. Nyanchumo, Executive Secretary LBES.
Presenting the technical report of the building, Yilobemo Humtsoe, vice president NPF Wokha division, said Rs 17 lakh was incurred for purchasing of the plot and construction of building. He also acknowledged the party president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu and the Chief Minister TR Zelaing for their financial and logistic support towards the construction of the office building.
Short speeches were also delivered by Sulanthung Lotha and Mhonjan Humtsoe, who merged with NPF from JDU and National Congress respectively last year. General Secretary NPF Central Office, Renbomo Kikon, also spoke during the programme. The programmme was chaired by P Mhonthung, president NPF Wokha division.
