Patton undertakes tour to Wokha district

Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): The deputy chief minister, Y Patton, along with the legislators in-charge of Wokha district for Covid-19 visited all the four constituencies in the district on Tuesday and interacted with the healthcare workers.

An update from the deputy CMO stated that at the Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Patton met the chief medical officer (CMO) and medical staff and handed over PPE kits and a sum of INR 10 lakhs for purchase of x-ray machine for the lone district hospital.

During interaction with the DTF for assessment of their preparedness, Patton was apprised of the district Covid-19 status, lockdown effects and current situation by the DC and DTC chairman, Orenthung Lotha.

It stated that concerns were also shared with regards to the wear and tear of the stretch of a newly constructed road from WTBC to Upper NST leading to Wokha village under municipal area. It added that the deputy chief minister has assured to forward the matter to the Urban Development department.

Later, Patton visited Old Riphyim Tourist Village, CHC Sanis, CHC Bhandari and distributed PPE kits to the medical staff and financial assistance to all the health centres. He also extended monetary assistance to PHC Wozhuro which was handed over to local MLA Dr. Chumben Murry.

To encourage the healthcare workers, Patton informed that this year’s 25 percent of the LADP funds for the whole district would be utilised for healthcare, infrastructural developments of CHCs, PHCs and district hospital.

The deputy chief minister was accompanied by advisors namely Mmhonlumo Kikon, Mhathung Yanthan and MLA Dr. Chumben Murry, DC, SP, CMO, party leaders among others.
