Patton sensitises public on coronavirus

Dimapur, March 17 (EMN): Deputy chief minister Y Patton has sensitised the officials of Zunheboto district administrative and police officers on the recent outbreak of coronavirus and preparedness of the government at Akuluto town on March 17.

Patton was scheduled to inaugurate the 12th Sumi Hoho trophy at Akuluto town on March 17 as the honoured guest but had to cancel the public reception and formal programme following advisory issued by the state government to refrain from holding social, cultural, sports and family functions, an update from Deputy CMO media cell stated.

It may be mentioned that on March 16, chief minister attended a high-level meeting to contain the fast spreading epidemic following which all educational institutions were asked to shut down.

Patton appealed to the people not to panic or spread false messages. The He was accompanied by health minister S Pangyu Phom and advisors including Kashiho Sangtam, Pukhayi Sema, Namri Nchang, Dr. Longrineken, Kazheto Kinimi and Toshi Wungtang.
