Patton provides crime cases update

Kohima, Aug. 14 (EMN):
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, who holds the additional charge of Home department, informed that 2313 police complaints have been filed from March 31, 2019 till date.

He was replying to unstarred questions during the monsoon session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on August 13. He said that 2222 complaints have been registered and taken up for investigation, while 91 complaints were not taken up ‘due to various reasons’.

According to an annexure that Patton shared, Dimapur recorded the highest number of cases during the period with 1163; and all filed cases were taken up for investigations.

Kohima had recorded 270 complaints, and 197 cases were taken up for investigations; Mon recorded the third-highest number of complaints filed with 259 cases, and 258 cases taken up for investigations.

Kiphire district recorded the lowest number of cases filed with 21 cases and all were taken up for investigation.

Meanwhile, PHQ (SCPS/N&P/Cyber Crime Police Station, Police Headquarter) had recorded 57 cases and all cases were taken up for investigation, it was informed.
