Patton inaugurates biometrics attendance system in PHQ

Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton today inaugurated the  Aadhar Based Biometric system installed in the police headquarters Kohima. A DIPR news report stated that the Dy. CM was welcomed by the DGP T.J. Longkumer, and as a token of appreciation, the department presented a memento to the Dy DM and the accompanying Home Commissioner, Ramakrishnan IAS. The DIPR stated that the Dy. CM, while addressing the police officers, mentioned about issues relating to law and order and the need to improve it. In this regard, he stressed on the investigation into pending high profile cases needs to be brought to a logical conclusion at the earliest and a monthly progress report to be submitted to the government. Patton also stressed on the traffic management and regulation and also expressed deep concern over the encroachment of police departmental land by civilians. In this regard, he said that strict action should be initiated against those encroachers. While appreciating the welfare activities of the unit commanders, the Dy CM also stressed that cleanliness drives should be initiated in every police station and police reserve to make 'Nagaland a plastic free state'. The Nagaland DGP, T.J Longkumer IPS, who also addressed the police officers, said that as police officer, 'they enjoy all the privileges'; therefore, it was the bounden duty of shoulder all responsibilities to provide 'security, service and sacrifice' to the denizens of Nagaland. In this regard, he cautioned all officers not to cross the limits of authority as police officers. The Home commissioner, Ramakrishnan, who accompanied the Dy. CM, reiterated that the need of the hour is to be vigilant and proactive in matters of mob lynching and to keep on working for the welfare of the jawans. He further appreciated the dedication and good works done by the police forces in the state, the DIPR report further added.
