Dimapur, Jan. 15 (EMN): Nagaland deputy chief minister, Y Patton, has called for forgiveness and reconciliation among the Naga community to enable peace and harmony prevail in the society.
Patton stated this at the culmination programme of a three-day platinum jubilee celebration of the New Changsu Village Church on Sunday. The jubilee was held from January 13 to the 15th on the theme "Let your light shine" (Matthew 5:16).
The programme began with an invocation prayer said by R Zanbemo Kithan, pastor of Yikhum Baptist Church, followed with a prayer in remembrance of the former leaders by Rev. Dr. Benry Lotha, senior pastor of Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, an update from deputy CMO stated.
In his greetings, Patton has acknowledged the sacrifices made by the pioneers in attaining the milestone and urged the congregation to strive in carrying forward their visions and goals. Emphasising that jubilee is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation, he urged them to let bygones be bygones and let peace and harmony take over.
Patton also termed himself fortunate to be an in-law of New Changsu Village and thanked them for all the love and affection shown to him. He further wished bountiful jubilee blessings upon each and every individual and household.
In his sermon, Rev. Dr Ezamo Murry, executive secretary of LBCA (R), dwelled on the word of God by stating that only the light of Jesus Christ can bring changes in our lives. He spoke on the topic "Let the light of Christ bring change in your life."
The programme was enlivened by special songs presented by jubilee choir and Changsu Yanthan Wokha Town Eloe Okho.
Rev. L K Tsanglao, pastor of Longsa Baptist Church, prayed for God's blessings upon the village and the church, while Rev. Monglio Ngullie, pastor of Pangti Baptist Church, pronounced the benediction.
