Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): The deputy chief minister, Y Patton has greeted the members of Old Changsu Baptist Church on the occasion of its centennial jubilee celebration on January 17.

In his message, Patton stated that jubilee is a time to repent, forgive and forget all the past rancour and exalt the Almighty God for all His grace during the past years. He called upon the congregation to rededicate themselves in Christian values and give thanks for all the blessings bestowed upon the people of Old Changsu village in the past hundred years.
Patton has particularly felicitated the pioneers and surviving family members, who embraced Christianity in 1919.

He also called upon the youngsters to rededicate in their academic career through hard work and to excel in competitive exams. Patton has also announced to sponsor genuine and committed aspirants from Old Changsu village for undergoing coaching classes. He also assured to sponsor two candidates from the village for pursuing theological studies till graduation in memory of the centennial jubilee.

Patton also urged upon the youngsters to abstain from all sorts of intoxicants saying that it would not only ruin their health but also affect their future careers.

Patton, who is also in-charge of PWD (R&B), further assured to black-top the approach road to Witter Bible College campus at Vankhosung from the welcome gate within two years.
