Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), Nagaland, awarded 135 students during the ‘Semester Topper Award Ceremony’ held at Bundrock Auditorium of the college on February 2.

According to a press release issued by the mass communication department of the college on Monday, the faculty, staff and students attended the award ceremony where 16 students from Bachelor of Music, five from MSc., three from MA, 49 from BSc., 54 from BA, five from BCA, and three from Multimedia and Mass Com. were felicitated.

The principal of Patkai Christian College, Husazu Epao, told the students to be the beacon of light in the society while stating that the award ceremony was a platform for the students to “realise their potential and do better”. Vice-principal Angel Sonari congratulated the achievers and urged the students to make Patkai proud in future, infirmed the press release.

The institute’s controller of examination (COE), AG Samuel, told the students that politics, socio-economic life, society and many other areas need rebuilding and that it is possible with quality education. Everywhere in the world, educational institutions are considered to be the solutions to people’s problem, he added

“If you want to be the solution to people’s problem, you must be educated,” Samuel told the students. “Quality education is a result of inner driven quality which drives you to do well in life. But if you are influenced by outside forces than you are relying on others which is not the mantra for success,” he added.

The COE also appealed to the students to make right choices in life, saying, ‘There are three types of people in the world, first are those who bring happiness by finding solution to people’s problem, second are those whose absence makes other people happy and third category are those whose presence makes no difference. The choice is yours, he added.

Dean of Music department Dr. Vivee Peseyie, dean of Science department Dr. Thefuvilie Pieru and dean of Arts and Commerce Dr. Renchumi K Kuotsu gave away the awards to the students during the occasion.

Around 16 students from Bachelor of Music, five students from Master of Science, three from Master of Arts, 49 students from Bachelor of Science, 54 students from Bachelor of Arts, five students from Bachelor of Computer Applications, and three students from Multimedia and Mass Communication were felicitated on the day.
