DIMAPUR — The Department of Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), concluded the fifth edition of the three-day Campus Film Festival, Chümoukedima, on January 24.
The premiere calendar event of the college was presented by TVS and powered by Kaffa Cafe, in collaboration with Sony and Bingebox as the associate partner, according to an update. The Toppers Academy was the education partner, while We The Nagas was the digital media partner.
Over the course of the event, a total of 24 films were screened, with 18 films showcased during the first two days and six films screened on the concluding day. A special screening for children was held on day two.
The final day commenced with a formal session, featuring a film production workshop conducted by filmmaker Tyrel Reuben Lyngdoh from Shillong.

Addressing students, he described cinema as a powerful medium through which regions preserve memory and identity, emphasising the need for filmmakers from the northeast to tell their own stories rooted in local contexts and lived realities.
During the workshop, the co-founder and creative producer at The Hillspeople Collective also shared insights into the filmmaking process, outlining the journey from idea to screen through pre-production, production and post-production.
He further discussed the distinction between film, movies and cinema, highlighting cinema as both an art form and an industry.
Stressing discipline over fleeting inspiration, he encouraged students to approach filmmaking as a collaborative and sustained practice, pointing out resilience through rejection, consistency and networking as essential elements in building a career.
A highlight of the final day was the screening of the film “Inclination” by director Smriti Prakash Boruah and her team. “Inclination” was officially selected for the Egyptian American Film Festival (EAFF) 2025. The filmmaker also visited the campus on the day of the screening and interacted with the students.
