DIMAPUR — Patkai Christian College commemorated its 50th foundation day with a celebration at Bundrock Auditorium in Chümoukedima on Wednesday in the presence of faculty, students, alumni, and guests.

The event was also attended by the founder and principal emeritus, Rev. Dr. Tuisem A Shishak, and former principal Rev. Judson. The speaker for the day was Hoto Yeptho, a member of the board of trustees, according to a press release.

During the celebration, a gifting tradition was observed where the college presented each donor village, Chümoukedima and Seithekema, with a rooster and a packet of salt as a token of gratitude for donating the land on which the college was established. This practice aligns with the Angami tribe's customary law.

Speaking on the occasion, Yeptho reflected on the significance of the Jubilee and discussed the journey of the institution from 20 students and a few teachers in thatched houses to becoming one of the best colleges in the north-east.

The programme also featured a special musical performance by the students of Margaret Shishak School of Music.
