Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.
~ 2nd Timothy 1:4

Ambrose J. Chakre

EVERY act of our desires convicts us to see, think and act according to the desires of the passions within us. The effects of our relationship with each other determines the depths and levels of intimacy we share with our loved ones. The truth of the matter is that we must honor the holy relationship we share with each other. It is only when we understand the love of Christ we begin to love everyone, even our enemies with a godly passion. Next to loving God the Scripture commands us to love each other in the truth. This means that we are to love everyone with a love which is holy, pure and righteous. The standard seems so high and yes it is important for us to be above the rest that we may move on to a higher level of love, holiness and intimacy with each other. Often it’s what we create which determines how we feel in the future. In the Book of Romans it is written “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10) (Romans 13:8) Quoting from my own words, this is what I often say “Love is our mission, prayer is our duty and we find complete satisfaction in love only when we love completely”.
The nature and desire of love is so strong that it has the power to create an atmosphere of love, trust and holiness in our midst. In some of our mission trips we encounter touching moments which moves us to tears because of the connection between us and our loved ones. There are also some instances in which some keeps on holding on to our hands almost refusing to let go and it also reminds us of the greatness of God’s love. Truth of the matter is that it is never by our goodness that good things happen but it is the Holy Spirit which moves and convicts us to speak, think and act in the powers of truth. The holy and intimate moments we share with each other gives us reasons to desire the company of each other. Every investment we make in love will result in greater love, stronger passion and most importantly it will build us up in our love for each other, for God and the sinners. There are also times when we get wounded by our loved ones but even in our hurts it is more important for us to keep on loving even when the wounds are deep.
The point is this: Being who we are we must be perfected in the powers of what we love. This holy relationship we share with each other has to be honored and it is we who must honor it. The lifestyles of the Apostles clearly depicted what they represented. Every moment invested in love will result in greater connection between us and God. It is for the cause of love that we live and it is important for us to be in step with it. When we love so much we begin to miss our loved ones so much. The gift of this intimacy must be used exclusively for the glory of God. The Word expects us to love and built each other up in our holy faith. The passions of our desires will always be centered on love, faith and hope. Love is our desire. God is our hope and faith is our passion. This is an intimate message of the Church of Christ to all the lovers of God. God is passion.
