Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha, has encouraged parents to send their children to government schools stating that teachers in government schools are well qualified to teach and nurture the students in a proper way, while he also pointed out that less enrolment of students in government schools do not define them as bad compared to private schools.

Neikha stated this during inauguration of a new building of Government High School (GHS) in Sakhabama under Kohima district constructed under Samagra Shiksha on May 7. Stating that the government has set up schools in every village of the state, he regretted that many families tend to send their children to private schools with the wrong notion that government schools do not provide quality education.

While encouraging parents to send their children to government schools, he informed that the state government has introduced many schemes and projects to develop the educational system. He added that teachers in government schools are well qualified to teach and nurture the students in a proper way.

Neikha also called upon the public to give their best effort to upgrade GHS Sakhabama to that of higher secondary in the near future. Besides, he appealed to the parents to always guide the children with their homework and activities given in schools and not leave the responsibilities on teachers alone.

Neikha further expressed happiness on the assurance of the School Education department to deploy adequate teachers as well as construct staff quarters for teachers and hostels for students.

The commissioner and secretary of School Education, Kevileno Angami, and the director of School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe, were also present on the occasion.

The headmaster of GHS Sakhabama, Rukuvito Kikhi, shared a brief report of the school, while the director of GethemGo Sports International, Dr. Viposa Kiso, delivered the vote of thanks.
