Dimapur: The Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has vehemently condemned the killing of Eleazar Whuchitu Thupitor of Mokie village and Shetshale of Old Thewati village allegedly by three persons on the outskirts of Mokie village under Meluri Sub-Division, Phek District on March 12.

PAPO in a statement on Monday alleged that the trio -- Aho, Zükhomong, and Puisang – “left their bodies to rot unattended for about a week till the incident was discovered by family members and villagers of Mokie Village on March 19,  and in an attempt to destroy evidence, “set fire to the dead body of Late Shetshale which was burnt beyond recognition”.

“This is the first kind of such horrific crime committed in the land of PAPO, which is highly condemnable by every right thinking citizen. Such killings among Naga brothers is uncalled for when the Nagas have already accepted dialogue for a peaceful solution and appeals to the concerned authority to book the culprits and deliver justice at the earliest,” it read.

It went on to state that any factions sheltering refuge or enrolling these perpetrators would be doing so at their own risks; they would be treated as claiming responsibility for this killing and PAPO will initiate non-cooperation towards the party involved.

PAPO further said it shared the grief with their families, relatives and friends and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
