Pangnyu Phom attends world’s medical conference in New Delhi

Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): Minister for Health and Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom along with an official from the state government attended the ‘2nd World Conference on Access to Medical Products achieving the SDGs 2030’ being held at New Delhi from Oct. 9-11. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to enable a holistic view on access to medical products, and in support from the World Health Organisation is hosting the conference in the nation’s capital. The conference aims to discuss ways and means to achieve reliable access to effective, safe, quality-assured and affordable medical products (medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, devices) which has been identified as a key to progressing towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the SDGs (sustainable development goals). Union Minister for Health, Jagat Prakash Nadda graced the occasion as chief guest, two Union Minister of State for Health, a good numbers of state ministers and delegates from all over the world were present. The Union Minister said that, expert agency from all over the world and many specialist doctors had come together for promotion of health sector in the nation and international health sectors to achieve the World Health Mission for 2030. The national health insurance in India had put INR 6 lakh for each family, which is the world biggest health policy, till date 50,000 families had availed the opportunity of the policy. The policy is unit strength of our nation, the union minister further announce that for the 3rd conference will be held at New Delhi, India from November 19 to 21, 2019, this was stated in a press statement issued by the Kuolie Mere, the PRO (IPR) Nagaland House, New Delhi.
