Paiwang Konyak instructs district hospitals to publish details on department’s website
DIMAPUR — The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, visited the District Hospital Peren on Monday and interacted with the officials.
During the interaction, the minister stated that all district hospitals should upload details to the department’s website, including the strength of manpower, hospital activities, availability of medicines, OPD load, and any outbreak of diseases.
This, he said, will help the department address issues without delay and avoid lapses between the district hospitals and the directorate.
MS of DH Peren, Dr. Yartenla, pointed out on the occasion the shortage of doctors and nurses in the hospital, to which the minister responded that transfer and rationalisation will take place very soon and that hospitals having a shortage of hospitals will be taken care of.
The minister reminded the officials that the OPD load will determine the rationalisation and transfer process and asked them to maintain a proper record of the patients seeking treatment in the district hospital.
Paiwang Konyak informed the officials that, as per the government’s order, the timing for OPD should be strictly adhered to and maintained that no patient should be deprived of health care services due to the non-availability of doctors.
The minister also assured that he, along with the department, is putting all effort into improving the health delivery system in the state and urged the officials to cooperate with the government accordingly. He also stated that a mechanism for reaching out to all CMOs once a week has been developed and will be implemented very soon.
The minister was accompanied by senior officers from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare and others.
Later in the evening, he also had a meeting with the CSOs of Peren district.
