Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways and Land Resources Paiwang Konyak convened a meeting with student bodies from Wakching and Aboi, Konyak Union and Empowered Committee at Walo Guest House, Mon Town on June 30 to discuss issues related to Covid-19.
An update from Wakching Town Students’ Union informed that the minister, who is also the in-charge of Covid-19 for Mon district, thanked the student bodies for their selfless and dedicated contribution in fighting the Covid-19. He further encouraged the student leaders to keep going till the end.
Yonglong Chemshe, convenor of Combined Wakching Students’ Union (CWSU), highlighted the difficulties faced by the students while delivering voluntary services during the Covid-19 lockdown. He assured at the meeting that the union would “fight tooth and nail to save Konyak in general and Wakching in particular from the deadly virus”.
The union thanked the minister for “donating INR 50,000 towards the union fund for expenses of the two check gates installed at Wakching”.
