Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): 'A Better Dimapur,’ an initiative of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), on Monday initiated the arduous task of painting the flyover overlooking the railway station in Dimapur.
Different organisations like Team Clean, Teram Green, E-Circle, Life NGO, AOK and CAN Youth volunteered for the event.
Achano Tungoe, one of the volunteers, informed Eastern Mirror that they started to paint the flyover from 9 am till 6 pm, and would continue to paint it from 8 pm till around 2 am - 3 am 'so that they would complete the painting by tomorrow itself.'
Tungoe said that around 20 volunteers participated and added that even Dimapur Naga Students’ Union joined them during the night shift of painting of the flyover.
She also informed that they would be decorating Clock Tower as well.
It may be mentioned that the aim of ‘A Better Dimapur’ is to inculcate civic sense among the citizens of Dimapur through community participation; a mindset change that will transform the city for the better.
