Paint of brothers: Exploring the fine art of painting

Mokokchung, July 8 (EMN): Two brothers, Along and Akum Nokdir, on Saturday launched a state-of-the-art facility for ‘body, paint and repairing’ of automobiles in Mokokchung on Saturday.

The service centre is ideally located at Yongpang market, opposite Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Arkong Ward; and was dedicated by the Reverend Nungshi of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo.

Along, the elder one, said that he was driven by passion and love for automobiles from a very young age and started a small workshop during his early twenties in 2003 and later introduce his younger brother Akum to the business.

The brothers said that they had envisioned five years ago but financial support and finding an ideal location was a hurdle to realising their dream. However, with zeal to achieve their dream, they finally took the initiative to upgrade their business establishment in 2017.

Akum lamented that just for quality paint, many people travel to Jorhat, Assam spending time and money; but it’s a loss for the struggling local economy here and revealed that the brothers decided to open the modern facility providing affordable price with a quality paint job to the customers.

Along said that start-up for a state-of-the-art body shop is a capital-intensive investment, even after it starts generating revenue but if the shop is to succeed, a dealer must be committed to spending on continual training for collision techs and for expensive new tools.

He further added that to fulfil the customer’s satisfaction, they have sent their technicians for training at renowned companies out the state. “As the cars get more sophisticated, the dealers have to offer the latest training to our service technicians,” Along asserted. All the technicians are well trained and specialised in their field, Along informed.

The new paint service centre has been equipped with modern machine and services like Heat Chamber for all weather condition, spot wielding machine, PPG Asian Painting 2K colour Mixing, Duxone Axalta paints and canteen facilities.

“We invite motorists to visit our fully equipped shop or call to set up an appointment for a free appraisal or emergency towing if required,” said Along.
