Dimapur, Sep. 18: The Public Action Committee (PAC) has reportedly resolved to stop the lease system for toll collection introduced by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) after the current deal expires on September 30, and that the DMC man the toll booths by staff in uniform.
The resolution was adopted during the PAC meeting with the tribal apex bodies of Dimapur on Wednesday.
The PAC has stated that it has decided to lodge an ‘FIR against the Forest department check post at new field’ for issuing challan without date, which was detected on September 18 by its volunteers.
“Until the state government gives a clear-cut decision for collection of royalty taxes, both the departments, i.e. Geology and Mining, and Forest, will not be allowed to collect taxes,” the PAC affirmed.
It also informed that a meeting with transport agencies and suppliers of Dimapur has been convened at the Naga Council Dimapur office on September 19 at 8 am. All the transport agency representatives have been asked to attend the meeting.
