Dimapur, May 19 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan said that the much-awaited pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plant at District Hospital Dimapur (Covid hospital) will be operational once it received results of samples being sent to Delhi for certification.
The State’s Health minister S Pangnyu Phom had said a couple of days ago that installation work of the plant in Dimapur which has the capacity to produce 200 LPM of medical oxygen had been completed.
Informing that the oxygen plant at the district hospital is functioning well and they are also monitoring it on a daily basis, the DC said the health facility will start using once it gets the certification from Delhi that it is fit for medical use.
He also updated that they have been monitoring the Dimapur Airport as well as the other routes. He informed that people coming by flights have reduced comparatively and 90% of the passengers come with negative test reports and the rest are tested upon arrival.
He informed that apart from the hospital beds, there is also Covid Care Centre in Chümoukedima New DC office complex.
He said that they are focusing on hospital beds this year because as per statistics, around 89% are asymptomatic, 7% of the cases are mild and moderate and 4% of the cases are severe and most of the cases are on oxygen support, unlike last year where 98% of the cases were asymptomatic.
He also stated that the administration has fixed the rate for Covid testing at INR 800 and ‘if people are charged higher than the rate, they can inform the administration’.
