Mokokchung, May 10 (EMN): More than 80 persons participated in a random Covid-19 antigen card test conducted by the chief medical office, Mokokchung at MMC Shopping Complex on Monday.
The participants included shopkeepers, salespersons and others around the vicinity of MMC Shopping Complex and Old Town Hall road.
Deputy CMO, Mokokchung Dr. Nungdok informed that around 100 testing kits were issued for the random testing on Monday.
The doctor also informed that the results of all the participants in the random test returned negative. He however, added that the official final report would be released only after the conclusion of weeklong exercise.
A circular issued from deputy commissioner’s office Mokokchung stated the first phase of random testing of Covid-19 would commence from May 10 to the 15th at various designated locations.
A source from the Covid-19 Hospital Mokokchung also disclosed that there were currently 14 patients in the hospital most of whom were in the recovery process and some with mild symptoms.
The source also disclosed that most of the positive cases in the district were migrated cases from Kohima and Dimapur.
On the oxygen plant at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), the source informed that the final consignment for the plant had reached Mokokchung last week; however, due to ‘unfortunate detection of positive cases among two groups of engineers, the installation of the oxygen plant might get delayed’.
