Over 76k quintal of rice a month for Nagaland

Kohima, Feb. 20 (EMN): Nagaland receives 76321.10 quintal of rice monthly from the central pool under National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA 2013).
This was contained in the annual administrative report 2019-2020, department of Food and Civil Supplies tabled recently in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. It informed that 59,696.10 quintal of rice were under Priority Household (PHH) scheme and another 16, 625 quintal of rice under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).
The National Food Security Act, 2013 was introduced in July 2016. There are 2,37,434 beneficiaries under Priority Household (PHH), earlier known as BPL and APL; while there are 47500 beneficiaries under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).
There are 1621 Fair Price Shops (FPS) in the state, with 1323 in rural areas and 298 in urban areas. Under the PHH Scheme, each household is provided with 5 kg of rice at INR 3 per kg; and under AAY scheme, each household is provided with 35 kg of rice at INR 3 per kg, it informed.
