IMPHAL — A contingent of over 300 sportspersons and officials from Manipur will represent the state in the upcoming 3rd North East Games. The event is scheduled to take place from March 18 to 23 in Nagaland.

The contingent, comprising 178 males and 113 females, along with coaches and officials, will participate in 16 disciplines—archery, athletics (A), athletics (B), badminton, basketball, boxing, cricket, football, pencak silat, sepaktakraw, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, belt wrestling, freestyle wrestling, and wushu.

It was announced during a press conference held on Tuesday at Manipur Olympic Bhavan, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal.

Chef-de Mission Moirangthem Ratankumar Singh of the Manipur team said, however, that the cricket team representing the state for the competition will be finalised once the concerned cricket authority gives the green signal.

Ratankumar mentioned that the state players will commence their departure for the games venue on March 16, while officials will depart on March 17.
