DIMAPUR: Several gunshots were reportedly fired at Khango-led NSCN(K)’s ceasefire monitoring cell office located at Thilixu village in Dimapur on Saturday morning.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dimapur (Crime)/PRO, Khekali Y Sema, told this newspaper that the firing happened on the morning of March 18.

The police officer informed that more than 100 gunshots were exchanged between cadres of Khango-led NSCN(K)  and Isak Sumi-led NSCN(K), the groups that split into two last year over some disagreements between its leaders.

However, no casualty was reported in the firing incident.

The police officer informed that the issue might be related to the occupation of ceasefire monitoring cell office located at Thilixu village by the Khango-led NSCN(K), adding that investigation on the matter is underway.
