Dimapur, Aug.19 (EMN): The NSS unit of ICFAI University, Nagaland honoured its outgoing NSS volunteers through a felicitation programme on Monday.
According to a press release, Dr. Imtinungsang Jamir, the programme officer of the NSS unit, stated that providing education through community service was the primary objective of the NSS and that “service to community is the only activity through which its objective is attained.” He also highlighted various activities undertaken by the NSS and appreciated the efforts of the volunteers.
C.P Alexander, Vice Chancellor of the university, encouraged the youths to “inculcate social welfare thoughts and provide service to society without any prejudice.”
“NSS volunteers should continue to work hard to ensure that everyone in our society who is needy gets every possible help from them so as to encourage and lead a life of dignity in the society,” Alexander exhorted, and encouraged the youths to contribute in building the nation, the statement read.
